For Ever

She will be a bass player,

Double not guitar;

Her hair will fall in halves:

Parting perfect (sweet sorrow).

The theme is red—

I’ve never heard this song before,

Do you want another?

Only as long as we both shall live.

Golden shimmer,

We’ve abolished winter,

No one else can enter.

Your touch: earth tremor.

Forever shouldn’t be in the dictionary,

What do I scream at when the disaster is an absence?

Fold into now

All of the yous that ever were and ever will be,

A paper chain of people made at the children’s table (acid orange plastic).

I’m the vanishing point.
