They fall in and out of touch or love

in the normal way, the quiet way,

when they hold the outlines of one another

in their fingertips: the little words they tapped in early hours

and the echoed textures of their clothes.

Drifting now, as ghosts,

absent to the soft, electric lights of feeling;

living partially.

Freya Williams is a second year English Literature student at Hild Bede. She still finds writing about herself in the third person somewhat excruciating and is failing to describe herself in a way that doesn’t sound pretentious. She still likes tiramisu, third stream and the work of Jacques Demy.
