Doctored Tone

My body is found in a file scored by the

Polysyllables of a dead language. It keeps me

Alive, my iambic breathing. Gives me feet.

Developed, progressed, advanced:

Disjointed in a doctored tone

I am informed. Armed,

With sense.

Freya Williams

Freya is an English Literature finalist at Hild Bede. Though exclusively contributing poetry to FTL, her love for stage and screen writing has translated elsewhere as a play, Lobby, that was performed at the Assembly Rooms in Michaelmas 2022, and a short screenplay, A Vacation, which was nominated for the 2023 Watersprite Film Festival’s ‘Writing for Screen’ Award.
